TRAIN ON THE BULLDOG RACE COURSE
Saturday, July 21

Join your fellow Bulldoggers for information training on the Bulldog race course.

Is there anyone who wants to carry flour and make a few arrows for this run?

DATES:
• Saturday, July 21
• Saturday, August 4**

**If you would like to run the 50K but you dont meet the qualifying requirements, please email Nancy <bulldogultra@yahoo.com> to use the August 4 training run as your qualifier.

ONE LOOP: 16.5 miles (from the car)

MEET UP TIME: Please arrive early, shoes tied, bottles full, ready to meet up and start running at 7:00AM.

RUN START TIME: 7:00AM. Please note that this is an unstructured run on the Bulldog race course. People just meet up at 7:00AM and form groups to run with. I do not recommend starting earlier than 7AM; you all need to get your heat training on!

LOCATION: Meet on the corner of Las Virgenes Road and Mulholland Highway; this is outside of MCSP.

DIRECTIONS:

~Exit the 101 at Las Virgenes Rd.
~Go south.
~Park at the corner of Las Virgenes and Mulholland Dr.
~Parking is free on the corner.
~Note: Can also be reached from PCH.

MILEAGE: 16.5 very hilly miles

WATER/TOILETS: There is NO ACCESS TO WATER on this run. Please note: The Bathroom at Tapia Park is CLOSED for repairs. That usually means the park has decided not to pay staff to service the bathroom. The only water and toilets is at start/finish inside Malibu Creek State Park. YOU MUST CARRY ENOUGH FLUIDS, CALORIES AND ELECTROLYTES TO SUSTAIN YOU THROUGH 16 VERY HILLY MILES! RECOMMEND 20oz (one bottle) per hour!

SUPPORT: THESE TRAINING RUNS ARE UNSUPPORTED. Please print and carry
the course directions for navigating the route. THERE WILL BE LITTLE TO NO COURSE MARKINGS; YOU ARE RUNNING AT YOUR OWN RISK! Suggest forming groups for safety.

COURSE MARKING: There will be little to no course marking. A very few orange surveyor ribbons have been tied at significant turning points but there is no guarantee that the ribbons have not been removed. The ribbons are off to the side so you need to look for them at turns. Best to print and carry the course directions. Volunteers to carry flour and mark arrows are welcome!

CREEK CROSSING: Please note; there is a creek crossing between Tapia Park west and Tapia Park east.

BY ATTENDING THESE RUNS, YOU AGREE:

~That you are running at your own risk.
~That you are trained for and prepared to run 16.5 very hilly miles.
~That you will carry enough fluid, calories and electrolytes to sustain you through the entire run.
~That you will run unsupported; finding your own way around the course, following the printed directions.
~That you are fully prepared to run in the heat.
~That you may encounter poison oak.
~That you may encounter rattlesnakes and/or other wildlife.
~That you will wear hats, visors, bandanas, sleeves, and sun block.
~That you will not wear headphones while running on the course.
~That you will not litter the course.
~That you will not hold Trail Run Events LLC or its agents or officers responsible for injury or death to yourself resulting from your training run.
~That you assume responsibility and expense for your own rescue and removal from the course should it be required. This includes, but is not limited to air evacuation.

RUNNING DIRECTIONS - PLEASE PRINT AND CARRY ON THE RUN:

Here is a link to a nifty Pocket Mod guide of the Bulldog race course. Easy to print and fold to carry on the run. Thanks to Michael Royer for making this.
