FOOL MOON 12 HOUR TRAIL RUN

SATURDAY, APRIL 16, 2011 - SUNDAY, APRIL 17, 2011

 

DIRECTIONS TO BASE CAMP (START/FINISH):

 

From the Ventura Freeway (Hwy 101):

 

    * Exit Las Virgenes Road - go north.

    * Turn RIGHT on Mureau Road.

    * Turn LEFT on Crummer Canyon Road.

    * Proceed to the top of Crummer Canyon Road.

 

PARK GATES will open at 6:30 AM.  Gates will be closed at sundown.

 

BIB PICK UP:  Bib pick-up starts at 0700. Please bring proof of your race registration when picking up your bib.

 

RACE START TIMES:  9:00 AM is the start time for both events.

 

THE COURSE:  The race course is a 1.81 mile loop on graded fire road with some unmaintained double track trail on the Mary Weisbrock Trail at Lasky Mesa in Ahmanson Ranch. The course is on a mesa that will offer spectacular canyon and valley views with night lights of the San Fernando Valley.

 

DROP BAGS:  There will be a drop bag area at base camp near the timing station.

 

EVENT FEATURES:

 

    * T-shirt pick up at race check in.

    * Computerized lap counting.

    * Aid station at base camp featuring typical ultra fare; salty snacks, electrolyte drink, fruit, candy, hot soup/coffee at night.

    * An area will be designated for overnight tent setup; All campers will be limited to the parking area.

    * There will be limited space along the race course for runners to set up their own aid station however no vehicles and no children will be permitted on the race course.

    * Award ceremonies after the races - Please bring a chair and cooler, and relax!

    * Personalized completion awards to all finishers.

    * Complimentary light lunch to all 24 Hour runners at completion of event (please have friends/family bring their own picnic).

 

BY ENTERING THIS RACE, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:

 

    * No race day registration.

    * The race will provide no medical care and no foot care; you are responsible for your own medical/foot care during the event.

    * No baby joggers on the course.

    * No dogs allowed in base camp or on trails.

    * No one under 18 years is permitted on the race course

    * No race day registration.

    * No alcohol permitted in the park.

    * No open fires.

    * No smoking anywhere within the park boundaries; this includes crew and family.

    * No race switching after midnight on 4/1.

    * Bibs are not transferable to another runner or deferrable to another year.

    * No early starts are permitted.

    * No event switching during the event.  IOW, 24-hour runners who stop at 12-hours will be given credit for xx miles completed in 24-hours.

    * No pacing of runners via bicycle or un-bibbed runners. Only registered/bibbed runners will be permitted on the race course.

    * The use of audio devices is not banned however for your safety and the safety of your fellow runners, please be sure you are always able to hear runners, cyclists and emergency vehicles approaching from behind. Likewise, you are responsible for hearing the instructions given during the event.

    * You will run at your own risk. You assume any and all financial responsibility that may be incurred in the event you require emergency evacuation from the racecourse, including but not limited to air evacuation.

    * LITTERING ON THE COURSE IS PROHIBITED.

    * Runners who are rude or offensive toward our race volunteers will have their bib numbers recorded and will be DQd.

    * Violation of any of the above rules will result in your disqualification, aka DNF.

    * All rules are non-negotiable and there are no exceptions to the rules. The race officials and aid station volunteers reserve the right to enforce rules and/or to create new rules, as necessary, up to and including on race day.

    * No alcohol permitted in the park.

    * Event will be held rain or shine.

    * FOOD, GAS & ICE: Available at Las Virgenes Road near the 101 freeway.
